Library HIBT students benefit from the use of one of the best Learning Resource Centres in the Country. The LRC’s provide a variety of study environments including individual carrels, open plan study areas, group study rooms, computer workstation and facilities for using personal portable computers, video studios, video conferencing and editing facilities, and specialist digital laboratories. The LRC’s also house the University's extensive library collections of printed books and journals and audio visual materials, alongside networked access to on-line e-information resources, including full-text electronic journals and newspapers, information databases, bibliographic and current awareness services, company data and multimedia materials. The centres offer the following exceptional study facilities:
The recently completed £120 million de Havilland campus houses the brand new sports and leisure complex, the 'Hertfordshire Sports Village'. Here students benefit from an ultra modern gym, swimming pool, sports hall, all weather pitches and a climbing wall. This facility is provided on the de Havilland campus, but students studying on the College Lane Campus can take a free five minute shuttle bus between the two campuses. Students automatically benefit from reduced prices for season tickets. Further information about this excellent facility can be found at: http://student.hertssportsvillage.co.uk
The University of Hertfordshire is one of only a handful of university’s that owns and runs a bus service. http://www.universitybus.co.uk is by far the biggest university bus service, both in terms of fleet and network. The University bus service offers a free shuttle between each of our campuses and the halls of residence and has also opened up new routes across Hertfordshire, and into North London, enabling students and staff living in these areas, who don't drive, to travel into the University each day. Universitybus annual passes are competitively priced, and taking the bus can often help users avoid the costs of running a car (servicing, insurance, tax, petrol and parking charges). In addition, a Universitybus pass enables free or discounted travel on most http://www.sovereignbus.co.uk bus services in the area. Other On Campus facilities HIBT and University of Hertfordshire students benefit from a the use of a small on campus supermarket, a student insurance shop, The Key Centre (a multi-faith place of worship and gathering), Koki's Travel (where you can book discounted travel tickets, both long and short haul), there is also a Medical Centre where students can book appointments with our on campus doctors and nurses. All students will receive this facility for free, but will have to contribute a small amount towards medicine costs. Close to London HIBT is located in the middle of the University of Hertfordshire's College Lane Campus in Hatfield. HIBT is just 25 minutes train journey from the centre of London and accessible to all the major London airports.
